2021 Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) – Believe Survivors

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time to focus the attention to the prevalence of sexual assault and educate communities, individuals and relatives about how to prevent it. Join CSVANW, local, state and national SAAM campaigns to honor the voices and experiences of victims and survivors.

SAAM Day of Action – Tuesday, April 6, 2021!
The first Tuesday of every April is the SAAM Day of Action. The Day of Action is an opportunity to start off the month with highly visible and coordinated actions. Chances are someone in your life is a survivor of sexual harassment, assault, or abuse, even if they have never shared their story with you. Show your support for survivors of sexual harassment and abuse by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention — on April 6th and post a selfie on social media using #SAAM2021. By wearing teal, you’re signaling that you support survivors, and are a safe person to talk to if they need to reach out.

Save the Date
Denim Day – Wednesday, April 28, 2021!
Wear jeans to take a stand against victim-blaming in honor of Denim Day. Head over to denimdayinfo.org to learn more about the campaign. Join the movement and be in solidarity by wearing denim and post a photo on social media sharing why you support survivors. Be sure you use #DenimDay #SAAM2021 and tag CSVANW.
